Over the past decade Imprint Publishing Systems Ltd has gained a reputation for publishing high quality products for the educational sector. It has specialised in the history, geography and modern studies sectors of the Scottish curriculum but has also sold widely to the GCSE markets in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Imprint produced the first of its high quality packages in 1989 as part of a complete, photocopiable, laser-printed S1-S2 Modern Studies course. This consisted of four units that developed the skills of evaluating and investigating and employed a concept-based approach to knowledge and understanding. The activity-based format generated a high level of student interest and was supported by integrated computer-based support materials and teacher guides.

With the success of its earlier products Imprint has since focused its attention on producing full colour textbooks which are supported by associated work guides. Imprint is currently examining ways in which educational materials can be delivered over the web and have launched a web site where it is hoped to provide free resources to the educational sector.

Imprint has also managed to obtain a number of key design projects and have produced materials for clients such as the Scottish Executive Education Department, the Strathclyde Investment Fund, Central Scotland Police and various local authorities.
